Head Types
There are many ways to implement a mesh head. For the sake of our sanity, we’ve created this classification system: Note, ears, lips and other face bits are classified the same way.
(with whole head referring to covering the entire mesh instead of the whole head.)
Important: This is not a grading system.
It is not representative of Quality or number of features. It is for organizational use only, to let us build better instructions and documentation.
Type M:
Description: These heads combine Aspects of Type A and Type C heads. The Entire head is covered in makeup layers, but, unlike Type As, they do not fit nicely together into a single layer, instead they are multiple overlapping layers. But unlike type Cs, few of the Layers are full head, instead, most only cover a small area and are for a specific purpose. (Like Eyeliner, or Lipstick).
Examples: GA.EG Bento, Lelutka Bento
Type A Full:
Description: These heads have a single, full head makeup layer split into 3 or more sections that can be individually textured.
Examples: Bimbo, Slink, Some Egoisme
Type A Partial:
Description: These heads have a single, makeup layer split into 3 or more sections that can be individually textured, but are not full head.
Examples: Catwa*, Some Egoisme, Eve
Type B Full:
Description: These heads have a single makeup layer split into 1 or 2 sections that can be individually textured.
Examples: Labyrinth, Void Void Void
Type B Partial:
Description: These heads have a single makeup layer split into 1 or 2 sections that can be individually textured, but the layer does not cover the entire head. This includes meshes that only have Hairbases.
Examples: Kitties Lair, Logo, Nyam Nyam
Type C Full:
Description: These heads have multiple makeup layers, with each layer being full head.
Examples: Sking’s Da Face. Soul Kissers, Signature
Type D:
Description: These heads have no makeup layers whatsoever.
Examples: Aii, Soul Gills, Petite and many other heads included with mesh bodys
Type Y:
Description: These heads are created using the Yabusaka Mesh Head Studio and have a makeup layer with 3 sections.
On these heads, The Hairbase is always Face 0, The Lips Face 2, and the Eyeshadow Face 1.
Examples: Coming Soon I’m sure…
Special: These heads are also considered Type A heads and behave in much the same way.
